Antardvand: More Than Just a Story

By [Vansh Nauriyal], Writer & Actor of “Antardvand”

Still can’t believe it, 5 days, one movie, and a journey I’ll never forget. Antardvand wasn’t just something we made for Project 144; it made us in the process. And as a writer, I put my thoughts on paper – but as an actor, I lived them.

How It All Began

It all started with a simple but troubling idea: What if the people who help others are the ones who need help the most? A psychologist who listens to everyone but suffers in silence. A theatre actor who makes people laugh yet carries his own burdens backstage.
I didn’t just want to write their stories, I wanted to feel them. And soon I wasn’t just writing ‘Antardvand’ was living it.

The Chaos of Creation

Five days to make a film sounds great until you’re in the middle of it and revising lines at 2 AM, working out shots on 4 hours sleep and telling yourself it’ll all come together in the end. I thought writing the script would be the hardest thing but getting in front of the camera was the real challenge.

I had to feel everything that I had written. All the nervous energy, all the pain that wasn’t said, all the little moments of relief, I had to be the character that I had written. And I saw parts of myself that I had never really seen before.

The Man with the Balloons

Then there was the Gubarewala. He was a character all by himself. Wisdom in a wrapper. While the psychologist and the actor were struggling to make sense of life, he had seen the worst of it and found peace in accepting it. He didn’t preach. He just lived and in living, taught them more than words could ever say.

I remember shooting those scenes and watching him speak and just being in his presence and forgetting we were acting. It was raw. It was real. I’ll never forget it.

More Than a Win

Winning Project 144 was great but the true win was in the making. The sleepless nights, the creative blockages, the unexpected emotional rollercoasters, Antardvand wasn’t just a film it was a reflection of all of us.
If there’s one lesson I learnt here, it’s that everyone has their own Antardvand to battle. And sometimes all we need is a Gubarewala to remind us that no matter how knotted life gets, we’ll find our way.

Some hide it behind a smile, some behind silence, and some behind their profession. But no matter how tangled life feels, there’s always a way to untie the knots.

Sometimes, all we need is a “Gubarewala” – a reminder that life doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be lived with authenticity.

Winning Project 144 was incredible, but the true victory was in the journey. The teamwork, the arguments, the laughter, the breakdowns, the “we can’t do this” moments followed by “we actually did it!” – that’s what Antardvand is really about.

It taught me that a film is not just a story captured on screen. It is sweat, sleepless nights, courage, vulnerability, and the courage to bare your soul in front of the world.

Final Thought

Antardvand may have been a short film, but its impact was far bigger than what we expected. It was not just about storytelling, but about self-discovery, healing, and understanding that art becomes timeless only when it speaks the truth of human emotions.

And that is why Antardvand will always remain more than just a story.
